 Job Description

Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities required for effective management of electronic security system installations. Supervises all National Account Project Managers, Installation Labor, and sub-contractors. Assures project profitability through completion of projects on time and within budgets. Identifies and resolves problems.  Works with clients to insure the quality of installations and customer satisfaction with work performed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures organizational structure and resources are in place to achieve quality installations

Provides leadership and direction to staff.

Ensures processes are in place to ensure needed materials, supplies and services are timely delivered to job sites.

Ensures project installation plans and schedules are in place and performance against these is satisfactory.

Establishes performance standards, expectations and job procedures necessary to achieve goals.

Assists in selecting, contracting, and monitoring the performance of subcontractors.

Effectively communicates keeping superiors, peers, and subordinates informed of progress.

Ensures needed documentation in regards to job status, job changes, material flow and other project related issues is maintained.

Participates in recruitment, assessment, and hiring of new employees.

Implements initiatives and directs activities that achieve continuous improvements in customer satisfaction.

Working with Sales, engineering and other departments ensures that customer expectations are clearly defined prior to the initiation of work.

Establishes benchmarks for performance and measures performance against these goals.

Ensures that individuals under his direction present a professional image of Company at all times.

Routinely walks job sites and interacts directly with customers to complete first hand assessments of Company performance.

Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction.

 

Plans, monitors job status, and controls job costs.

Prepares immediate and near term forecasts of labor and resource requirements on a weekly basis and ensures availability as needs dictate.

Devises and implements plans of action to proactively address problems and assure project profitability.

 

Responsible for training and development of the Implementation Team

Establishes expectations for performance.  Continually assess performance against expectations.  Take immediate action when indicated to address identified deficiencies.

Creates training and development plans on a quarterly basis for each direct report.

Studies literature and attends seminars to keep current in products, processes and materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:              The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.  Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge:

High school education or equivalent.

Associates degree (2 year) or Bachelor degree (4 year) in a technical capacity is desirable.

Skills and abilities:

Minimum five years experience in the supervision of an installation and or service team focused on Electronic Security systems.  Strong knowledge of business fundamentals, security concepts and operations.  Good subcontracting skills required.  Demonstrating financial and cost containment competencies as relate to handling of large projects.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Inventory software; Spread Sheet software; Design software and Project Management software.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

WA State– low voltage journeyman 06 a requirement

NICET a plus but not required
